Random Thought:: He Can Turn your Mourning into Dancing

It is amazing how God can change all your fears to faith, all your doubts to security, all your worries to assurance -- and a sick, hurting, unsecured, tear-filled start of 2011 to a blessed, surprisingly awesome, blissful, filled of laughter, love and grace 2011's end <3

*8 more days to go before my year-ender-photo-blog piece, God you are amazing. I feel so blessed :)

Word of the Week: SURREPTITIOUS

surreptitious •\ˌsər-əp-ˈti-shəs, ˌsə-rəp-, sə-ˌrep-\• adjective

When someone behaves in a surreptitious way, they're being secretive. They're doing something that they don't want to be seen doing.

While surreptitious means secret, it has the added sense of "sneaky" or "hidden."

You'll see surreptitious applied mostly to actions, rather than to things or ideas. We do things surreptitiously. The members of the secret society hold surreptitious meetings because, well, they're a secret society. I was very surreptitious in how I organized the surprise party: he never knew!

Origin of SURREPTITIOUS

Middle English, from Latin surrepticius, from surreptus, past participle of surripere to snatch secretly, from sub- + rapere to seize — more at rapid
First Known Use: 15th century

Jackie gets INKED :)

More than finding out that your friends are into Tattoo, it is the thrill of joining them in (and the honor of capturing snapshots of) their INKING experience that I enjoy the most.

For me, the concept and reality of getting INKED in this modern times have surpassed the stereotypical locked inmates mark or break-out rebellion. I would want to believe that society has accepted this as more than a fancy, but as a legit form of self-expression, of faith profession, as a reminder of the things you personally believe in, an imprint of art and its circling implications.

**
Jackie and I went to P&P Tattoo Shop last November and she got her first (and yes, second bit of ink) that eventful Friday.

Word(s) of the Week: UFC

UFC, which stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship is the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) production company in the world. It started/is being shown from the US and is being aired in most if not all countries around the world. UFC showcases different kinds of disciplines like Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Karate, Wrestling and is in observance of the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.

It currently has seven weight divisions -- and yes, though personally considered unfortunate  -- the Light Heavyweight division (205 lbs/93 kgs) now has Jone Jones reigning over it. Last December 11's fight declared Jones as the New UFC 140 Light Heavyweight Champ.

Don't worry, 100% girl in the house -- BUT YES,  I enjoy watching UFC and I am a Machida fan. Also, my insomnia is kicking in and I cannot help but doodle a few things about UFC and share some basics that might help you to at the very least understand if not appreciate what it's all about.

UFC's Current Weight Divisions

Weight class nameUpper limit
in pounds (lb)in kilograms (kg)
Flyweight12556.8
Bantamweight13561.2
Featherweight14565.8
Lightweight15570.3
Welterweight17077.1
Middleweight18583.9
Light Heavyweight20593.0
Heavyweight265120.2

The UFC stage is an eight-sided enclosure officially named "The Octagon." The UFC cage is an octagonal structure with walls of metal chain-link fence coated with black vinyl and a diameter of 32 ft (9.8 m), allowing 30 ft (9.1 m) of space from point to point. The fence is 5 ft 6 in to 5 ft 8 in height.

All competitors must fight in approved shorts, without shoes. Shirts, gis or long pants (including gi pants) are not allowed. Fighters must use approved light-weight open-fingered gloves, that include at least 1" of padding around the knuckles, (110 to 170 g / 4 to 6 ounces) that allow fingers to grab. These gloves enable fighters to punch with less risk of an injured or broken hand, while retaining the ability to grab and grapple

Matches usually end via:
  • Submission: a fighter clearly taps the mat or his opponent, or verbally submits.
  • Knock-out: a fighter is put into a state of unconsciousness resulting from any legal strike.
  • Technical Knockout (TKO): If the referee decides a fighter cannot continue, the fight is ruled as a technical knockout.

A fight can also end in a technical decisiontechnical submissiondisqualificationforfeittechnical draw, or no contest. The latter two outcomes have no winners.

I Want You

Cee-Lo Green's I Want You has been my weekend mindPOD on repeat soundtrack and I cannot fight the urge to share and publish this track with the lines that struck the spot.

".. and I want you, to run a way with me and experience something true
-anything you've already done just won't do, I want you..
and I want you, to genuinely and sincerely want me too
- you can believe in me baby don't be cruel, 'cause I want you.."

Word of the Week: SHIH TZU :)

More than the cute, adorable, little dog which they are popularly known for -- there are a number of awesome facts and information about this dog breed:

Did you know#01: The name translates as Lion Dog, so named because the dog was bred to resemble "the lion as depicted in traditional oriental art,"[1] such as the Chinese guardian lions. The Shih Tzu is also often known as the "Xi Shi quan" (西施犬), based on the name of Xi Shi, regarded as one of the most beautiful woman of ancient China.

Did you know#02: DNA analysis placed the ancestors of today's Shih Tzu breed in the group of "ancient" breeds indicating "close genetic relationship to wolves".

Did you know#03:  The Shih Tzu comes in a range of colors that include various shades of gold, white and brown. Other colors include black mask gold, black and white, solid black, solid liver, liver and white, brindle and white and silver and white.[12] Though not as common there are also solid blue Shih
Tzu.

Thanks to Dr. Jojo of Animal House, we had her dewormed, hooked on IV and on ID diet so she'll recover super fast. Hoping to get her home tomorrow. Get well love, see you in a bit.
