Jackie gets INKED :)

More than finding out that your friends are into Tattoo, it is the thrill of joining them in (and the honor of capturing snapshots of) their INKING experience that I enjoy the most.

For me, the concept and reality of getting INKED in this modern times have surpassed the stereotypical locked inmates mark or break-out rebellion. I would want to believe that society has accepted this as more than a fancy, but as a legit form of self-expression, of faith profession, as a reminder of the things you personally believe in, an imprint of art and its circling implications.

**
Jackie and I went to P&P Tattoo Shop last November and she got her first (and yes, second bit of ink) that eventful Friday.

Word of the Week: SHIH TZU :)

More than the cute, adorable, little dog which they are popularly known for -- there are a number of awesome facts and information about this dog breed:

Did you know#01: The name translates as Lion Dog, so named because the dog was bred to resemble "the lion as depicted in traditional oriental art,"[1] such as the Chinese guardian lions. The Shih Tzu is also often known as the "Xi Shi quan" (西施犬), based on the name of Xi Shi, regarded as one of the most beautiful woman of ancient China.

Did you know#02: DNA analysis placed the ancestors of today's Shih Tzu breed in the group of "ancient" breeds indicating "close genetic relationship to wolves".

Did you know#03:  The Shih Tzu comes in a range of colors that include various shades of gold, white and brown. Other colors include black mask gold, black and white, solid black, solid liver, liver and white, brindle and white and silver and white.[12] Though not as common there are also solid blue Shih
Tzu.

Am of to Animal House to visit my Baby Girl. She was confined over the weekend due to those evil wormies in her tummy. Good thing there are no bacterias in the heart and its just in the tummy. Thanks to Dr. Jojo of Animal House, we had her dewormed, hooked on IV and on ID diet so she'll recover super fast. Hoping to get her home tomorrow. Get well love, see you in a bit.

INKED in WHITE

After I got my FIRST TATT last April, I have always wanted to get another one (and probably one more after that.) But like my first Body Art, it has to be something I believe in, if not something i truthfully live by.

You will never fully understand the gift of life until it was almost snatched from your grasp. And though its complexities and the circles that goes twirling around it may bring negatives and positives interchanged - no one can ever deny the fact that life is worth living because of love.

Love, in its full unadulterated, self-less form.
Love, in all of its hues & rhythm.
Love ,in its musical notes & shades of black or white.

This year brings the realization, that we must start living each days as if its our last; not as an excuse of recklessness but as a reminder that we are bounded by the clock's tick-tick.

This year inks a reminder; that we have the choice to live our life based on what we are passionate about, around the once we truly care for, grounded on the covenant that there's a kind of love which surpasses the boundaries of time.

Open Spoken: Verses

Ive been scribbling since high school. I have a manage to collect a rummage of hilariously silly "high-school-you-thought-youreinlove" writings up to the most recent heart-out-burst.

I find solace in writing. Its personal; its an expression of your heart, a reflection of your thoughts, a channel of your soul. For years, I have hid behind the lines of my poetry. Cast under the shadow of my own words and locked in my broken sonnets and open-ended-verses.

I have long been hiding until i found a place here in Manila where you can read your poetry out loud, and i have mastered the gut to read my writings out.

Thanks to Dominic and to Open Spoken, my first Tagalog piece, written when i was in the blues last year, finally went out:

***

Takip Silim

pag-tanggap, pag-paparaya
at di pagpansin sa pansariling nararamdaman.
May kakaibang saloobin akong bigla nalang lumabas,

OPEN SPOKEN happens once a month at Yadu, The Collective. Malugay St. Makati City. Visit their pagehttp://www.facebook.com/OpenSpoken

TAKIP SILIM was written last 2010 and was finally spoken last September 2011

DIVE LOG: Open Water Flash Back

I have been out of my Underwater Wonderland far too long. Coming from an at least every month Diving Habit since I got certified last January 2009, it is such a shame that my last Scuba Dive was last August 2010. So before it officially turns a year of Scuba Drought, my buddies and I are driving to Anilao, Batangas for an "Awesome Diving Weekend" this August 20-21. Since it feels like I'll be diving for the very first time, I cannot help but recall my first encounter with SCUBAAAA..
