A natural compound found in grapes, mulberries, peanuts, and other plants or food products, especially red wine, that may protect against cancer and cardiovascular disease by acting as an antioxidant, antimutagen, and anti-inflammatory.

The red wine compound that's famous for protecting the heart may also shrink your waist. An animal study found that taking a daily supplement led to a 13 percent decrease in calorie consumption and a 29 percent increase in resting metabolic rate.
